The 2025 Partnerships for Culturally Safe Cancer Care grant program supports innovative, community-informed initiatives aimed at improving cancer outcomes and experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. The program focuses on accelerating the delivery of culturally safe, accessible, and responsive cancer care within mainstream cancer services. The central objective of the program is to strengthen culturally safe care practices by funding formal partnerships between mainstream cancer services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations. These partnerships are intended to embed culturally appropriate approaches into cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care. Applications are open to public or private mainstream cancer services acting as the lead organisation, working in partnership with at least one Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation. Additional partnering organisations may include not-for-profit organisations supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people affected by cancer, mainstream health services, or associated charities. Grants of up to AUD $700,000 over two years (2025–26 to 2026–27) are available, with a total funding pool of AUD $4,305,958. The program aligns with priority actions outlined in the Australian Cancer Plan and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Plan. Applicants must submit a complete application through Can-Grant, Cancer Australia’s online grants portal, by 5:00 pm AEDT on 3 February 2026, addressing all eligibility and assessment criteria as outlined in the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
