All applications for the EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships must be submitted exclusively through the official online application system. Applicants are required to upload all supporting documents, including two reference letters and confirmation of acceptance from the host institute. Only applications that are fully completed and formally submitted through the system will be taken into consideration. Before starting the application, candidates are strongly advised to carefully review the FAQs and the EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowship guidelines, as these documents contain essential eligibility and procedural information. Eligibility and evaluation are determined based on the date and time (Central European Time or Central European Summer Time, CE(S)T) at which the applicant confirms that the application is complete within the online system. Applications are accepted year-round and are assigned to one of two evaluation cycles depending on the submission date. The spring evaluation includes all eligible applications completed by the fourth Friday of January at 14:00 CET, with results announced around mid-June. The autumn evaluation covers applications completed by the second Friday of July at 14:00 CEST, with results announced around mid-December. Please note that simply registering for an online account does not count as submission. Applications finalized after the deadline will automatically be considered in the next evaluation round, with no exceptions.
