The Fellows-to-Faculty Award program supports outstanding early-career scientists as they transition into tenure-track faculty roles. Central to the program is a three-year faculty research grant of up to USD 600,000, designed to help fellows establish independent research programs. In addition to funding, participants join a community of investigators and benefit from structured mentoring and peer support during this critical career stage. Offered by the Simons Foundation’s Autism & Neuroscience division, the program aims to cultivate new scientific talent and expand the community contributing to the foundation’s research missions. By encouraging collaboration and supporting scientists from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, the program fosters innovation across autism, neuroscience, and related fields. This request for applications (RFA) is open to Ph.D. and/or M.D. scientists currently in mentored research training positions who plan to apply for tenure-track research faculty roles in the upcoming academic job cycle. Applicants must present a clear scientific vision for an independent laboratory aligned with the goals of the Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative (SFARI) or the Simons Collaboration on Plasticity and the Aging Brain (SCPAB).
