The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) COFUND 2026 call offers €105.5 million to support doctoral and postdoctoral training programmes across Europe and associated countries. The call opened on 16 December 2025, with a submission deadline of 8 April 2026. COFUND enables organisations to create new or strengthen existing doctoral and postdoctoral programmes by co-funding a significant portion of their costs. Beneficiary organisations must complement EU funding with their own resources, and synergies with cohesion policy funds are strongly encouraged. The programme supports two types of actions: Doctoral Programmes, leading to the award of a PhD and focused on advanced research training Postdoctoral Programmes, offering individual fellowships for career development and advanced research Programmes are bottom-up, open to all research disciplines, but may also target specific fields aligned with regional or national smart specialisation strategies (RIS3). Eligible applicants are single organisations based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. Additional partners—such as universities, research organisations, enterprises, funding agencies, and public authorities—may participate as implementing or associated partners. COFUND promotes high-quality recruitment, excellent working conditions, international and inter-sectoral mobility, and strong emphasis on research excellence, open science, ethics, gender equality, supervision quality, and career development. Funded projects are expected to start in the first half of 2027, following grant signature in December 2026.
