St Peter’s College and the Faculty of English seek an Associate Professor (or Professor) of English Literature specializing in the long eighteenth century (1660–1830). The role includes tutorial teaching, lectures, graduate supervision, and research leadership within Oxford’s English Faculty. Candidates will teach literature from 1550–1830, contribute to the English MSt programme, and support undergraduate and postgraduate education through research-led teaching. Expertise in poetry, prose, book history, or editing is desirable, with additional interests such as global literature, race and empire, gender and sexuality, heritage, or digital humanities welcomed. The post begins September 2026 or soon thereafter.
