The Clinical Pharmacist supports patient care and research activities through pharmacist-guided medication management, regulatory compliance, and training support. Working under the supervision of a site nephrology principal investigator, this role contributes to the safe and effective delivery of guideline-directed medical therapy within structured clinical and research protocols.
Key responsibilities and expectations include:

Providing pharmacist-guided prescription management, medication titration, and laboratory monitoring in accordance with Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy (GDMT) algorithms.

Supporting centralized medication management workflows under direct physician supervision.

Ensuring regulatory compliance related to research-associated pharmacy activities.

Participating in training initiatives supporting research and clinical protocols.

Monitoring patient response to therapy and identifying medication-related issues requiring clinical intervention.

Collaborating closely with nephrology investigators, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with institutional, state, and federal pharmacy regulations.

Supporting patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities related to medication use.
Required qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.

Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist with the Michigan State Board of Pharmacy.

Active state narcotics license.

Eligibility for Primary Source Verification as required for clinical pharmacy roles.
