The University of Leeds is seeking a motivated and research-active Lecturer in Psychology with Education to join the School of Education, contributing to high-quality teaching, programme development, and internationally recognised research. The successful candidate will contribute research-led teaching across a range of existing modules, while playing a key role in shaping future programmes within psychology, education, and childhood studies. You will deliver outstanding student-centered learning experiences, supervise postgraduate and undergraduate work, and engage in curriculum innovation aligned with institutional priorities. A strong commitment to building a competitive research profile is essential, including securing external funding, collaborating across disciplines, and producing high-quality publications.
Key responsibilities and expectations include:
- Delivering research-informed teaching in Psychology with Education across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
- Contributing to module leadership, curriculum design, assessment, and programme development.
- Providing academic supervision at UG, Masters, and potentially doctoral levels.
- Developing an independent research agenda leading to high-impact publications and external funding bids.
- Contributing to the School’s strategic goals through engagement, administrative duties, outreach, and collaborative initiatives.
- Supporting student experience, pastoral care, and inclusivity across teaching and research activities.
About the successful candidate:
- Doctorate in Psychology, Education, or a closely related field.
- Recent, high-quality experience delivering Psychology-focused teaching.
- Strong and developing research record with ambition to secure funding.
- Eligible for or holding British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartered Psychologist status.
- Able to contribute flexibly across education and childhood studies teaching areas.
