The University of Greenwich is seeking an experienced Module Lead – Data Science (Greenwich Online) to support the delivery and growth of its expanding online education provision. This role forms part of the University’s ambitious 2030 Strategy – “This is Our Time”, which places high-quality, flexible online learning at the heart of widening access to higher education.

Module Leaders are essential to the success of Greenwich Online. Working under the direction of the Programme Lead, the postholder will take responsibility for the design, delivery, and academic quality of a Data Science module within an online programme. The substantive role for this position is Lecturer in Data Science.

Key responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Designing, developing, and delivering a high-quality online module aligned with programme aims and academic standards.

  • Maintaining academic coherence, relevance, and currency of the Data Science curriculum.

  • Leading the student learning experience for the module, ensuring engagement, motivation, and academic success.

  • Monitoring and enhancing module quality in line with regulatory, quality assurance, and policy requirements.

  • Collaborating with colleagues across Greenwich Online and the wider University to design effective online learning experiences.

  • Contributing to continuous improvement of online teaching, assessment, and student support practices.

  • Acting as an academic and motivational leader for students and colleagues involved in the module.

About the successful candidate:

  • Subject expertise in Data Science or a closely related discipline.

  • Experience in programme or module design within higher education.

  • Previous teaching experience in fully online or blended programmes (desirable).

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance, regulatory, and policy frameworks in UK higher education.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • A student-centred approach, committed to inclusive, flexible, and accessible learning.
