The Norwegian University of Science and Technology invites applications for a PhD Candidate in GNSS Reflectometry and Maritime Object Detection at the NTNU SmallSat Lab. The project explores how reflected signals from global navigation satellite systems (GNSS-R) can be used by small satellites to detect ships at sea and identify GNSS jamming or spoofing events. The research will focus on RF and antenna design, software-defined radios, and digital signal processing for satellite payloads. The project is funded by the Research Council of Norway and contributes to improved maritime situational awareness using low-cost space systems.
