The Norwegian University of Science and Technology invites applications for a PhD Candidate in Engineering Geology and Hydropower Infrastructure Design. The position is part of the Research Council of Norway–funded project FME RenewHydro, which focuses on developing improved design concepts for future hydropower plants. The research will investigate optimized designs for tunnel systems, powerhouse caverns, and hydraulic structures to reduce environmental impacts, construction costs, and technical risks. The candidate will work within the Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics research group and collaborate with industry partners to develop sustainable hydropower infrastructure solutions.
