TU Delft is offering a PhD position to develop structural glass solutions to strengthen masonry and heritage buildings in a non-invasive and reversible manner. The project focuses on improving lateral load resistance against wind and seismic forces by integrating load-carrying glass into window systems. Hosted in the Applied Mechanics section of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences, the research combines experimental work, non-linear numerical modelling and industry collaboration to preserve Dutch heritage buildings with innovative engineering solutions.
