The Maaß Group is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to investigate the structure and dynamics of metallic glasses. The project focuses on advanced synchrotron-based experiments, particularly coherent X-ray scattering, to study transport phenomena and structural dynamics in glassy alloys. The goal is to establish links between microscopic structural changes and macroscopic mechanical properties, with particular emphasis on understanding embrittlement mechanisms in metallic glasses. Research will be conducted at BAM in Berlin, while the doctoral degree will be awarded by the Technical University of Munich. This position offers access to forefront experimental facilities and an excellent interdisciplinary research environment.
