The High Performance Computing (HPC) research group at the University of Basel, led by Prof. Florina M. Ciorba, invites applications for a PhD position funded by the SNF BRIDGE Discovery project Family Gene Toolkit: A Digital Service to Support Genetic Care in Europe. The interdisciplinary project brings together experts from nursing, social sciences, and computer science, along with clinical partners across Switzerland. The PhD candidate will contribute to the development of FGT 3.0, an AI-enhanced digital platform supporting families and clinicians in genetic healthcare. Responsibilities include building secure HPC pipelines, scalable AI training infrastructure, and privacy-preserving medical language models. Applicants should have a strong background in AI, HPC, and security, with motivation to apply computational methods to healthcare. Duration: 4 years (48 months). Start: April 2026.
