TU Delft is offering a PhD position to develop chemistry-based imaging tools that reveal mechanical stresses inside soft materials such as polymers and hydrogels. The project integrates mechanochemistry, advanced imaging and mechanics to link molecular-scale responses to macroscopic material behaviour. Hosted jointly by the Functional Polymers and Sensors group and the Mechanics, Materials, and Computing group within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the research will contribute to advanced materials, soft robotics and biomedical applications in an interdisciplinary environment.
