Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is offering a research position at the Institute of Microstructure Technology (IMT) focused on the design, simulation, and microfabrication of thin-foil X-ray mirror optics. The project supports the development of miniaturized reflective X-ray systems for applications in diffractometry, spectroscopy, and microscopy. Responsibilities include experimental characterization using laboratory X-ray sources, collaboration with industrial and academic partners, and publication of results in peer-reviewed journals. The position provides access to advanced cleanroom facilities and X-ray laboratories and offers the opportunity to pursue a part-time doctoral degree within a three-year contract (Vacancy No. 55/2026).
