The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the recently established Postdoctoral Research Station in Business Administration, working under Prof. Sunghan Ryu within Nottingham University Business School China. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to business and management research with real-world impact while supporting UNNC’s strategic mission of research excellence, innovation, and industry collaboration.

The position is based in Ningbo — a rapidly developing coastal city and major economic hub — within China’s first Sino-foreign university. The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research aligned with the project on trust, authenticity, and participation in digital platforms, contributing to publications, research funding bids, and future collaborations.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and articulate research objectives and proposals for individual and collaborative projects.

• Apply established research methodologies to collect, interpret, and analyse data rigorously.

• Produce publishable research outputs and present findings at national/international conferences.

• Identify and contribute to research grant opportunities, assisting with proposal preparation.

• Build internal and external networks to support research visibility, partnerships, and funding.

About you:

• PhD awarded within the last 3 years in business/management areas such as information systems (IS), marketing, operations management, entrepreneurship, or management.

• Strong analytical and methodological skills, with the ability to generate new insights from complex data.

• Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are advantageous but not required.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines and research goals.

• Practical experience applying specialised research approaches and techniques relevant to the role.
