Candidates are expected to secure external research funding, publish in international peer-reviewed journals, supervise doctoral research, and establish collaborative national and international networks.
Teaching responsibilities include contributing to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Educational Sciences, supervising Master’s theses, and helping to further develop the ‘Education and Formation’ track. Courses may include topics such as educational innovation, school development, teacher and school learning, and education policy. Teaching duties will be assigned based on expertise and aligned with KU Leuven’s research-based and socially engaged educational vision.
Applicants must hold a PhD in the behavioural sciences—preferably educational or learning sciences—with a strong international research track record. Demonstrated teaching experience, leadership potential, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collegially in diverse teams are essential. Candidates not yet proficient in Dutch will receive language support; legal teaching proficiency in Dutch (CEFR C1) is required within five years of appointment, with interim teaching in English.
