The Research Associate (PhD Position) supports interdisciplinary research on the history, economy, and law of the Early Islamic Empire within the RomanIslam Center. The role includes academic services, coordination of scholarly activities (websites, workshops, lecture series, and colloquia), and conducting independent doctoral research. The project focuses on transcultural processes of the first millennium CE (“Long Late Antiquity”), examining political, economic, and cultural transformations in early Islamic and successor states.
