Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) invites applications for a W1 Tenure-Track Professorship in Circular Structural Materials within the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The position focuses on engineering metallic structural materials, investigating structure–property relationships and developing microstructure design strategies through modified chemical compositions and processing kinetics. Research aims to substitute critical alloying elements and enable robust mechanical performance using physical metallurgy principles. The successful candidate will contribute to Helmholtz programs “Information” and “Energy,” collaborate in interdisciplinary materials research, and teach in German and English. After successful evaluation, the position offers progression to a permanent W3 full professorship.
